Why is there a drug recall?

Zantac has recently been found by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for having low yet potentially unacceptable levels of a nitrosamine impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).

The FDA said, “NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen (a substance that could cause cancer) based on results from laboratory tests.”
